Beeswax Molds
Beeswax molds are so easy to make, and I love how convenient they are to have on hand in mold form. You can do big or small, but having a smaller amount rather than having to shave some beeswax every time you need it is quite nice! Once you’ve rendered your wax down from all the hive scrap, simply melt it in a double broiler (I use my pyrex cup and a sauce pan) and the pour into the molds of choice. We happened to have Ninja Turtle Jell-O molds that worked absolutely perfect! Be sure that whatever molds you’re using can tolerate the heat of the wax being poured into them.
Let cool for at least a full hour, and pop out of mold. The longer they set, the easier they are to remove from the molds. They will hold their shape until you are ready to use them. I keep ours stored in a half gallon barrel top jar, and I am super satisfied with the results. I use them often, even in my wax burner… I am not a fan of artificial scents, so a few drops of any essential oil, and a beeswax mold is the perfect smell for me!
