Many recipes you find will call these Magic Bars, we’ve always called them 7 Layer Cookies, you call them whatever you like!
Add melted butter to graham crackers and mix well. Press firmly into bottom of pan, you can use parchment paper and your hands for a mess free method. Add layer by layer as listed. Spread evenly so everything melts together. Carefully pour condensed milk over the entire pan as even as possible. It is very thick so be mindful not to dump it in big globs, pour a steady stream over the whole thing. Bake 15-20 minutes, until golden brown around the edges and everything is melted on top. Temperatures vary on gas and electric ovens. Let cool 10-15 minutes and cut into bars, do not let cool completely before cutting, they become very firm and almost impossible to cut cooled. Recipe yields a 13x9 baking dish. You can do 2 8x8 batches or 2 9x9 batches if you’re using different flavored chips, or just cut the recipe in half. A favorite here is the traditional butterscotch with semi sweet, and a batch of white with dark. Do whatever you like, and enjoy!
